Nominative Command (Zuomingchi) Naming Ji Yun the Provincial Education Commissioner of Fujian

In the Qing dynasty, command edicts (chishu) were used to appoint officials to posts outside of the capital, and nominative commands were issued bearing appointees’ names and titles. These commands proclaimed the appointment of officials to the positions, such as governor-general, provincial governor, education commissioner, superintendent of imperial silk manufacturing, provincial military commander, or regional commander.
