Abstract: Over the past century, a large number of wooden slips have been unearthed from the Hexi Corridor and the Western Regions providing abundant information on military and administrative affairs, migrations, and cultural exchanges during the Han dynasty. Academician I-tien Hsing sheds new light from a long-term perspective on foreign cultural elements in the Hexi Corridor and the expansion of Chinese culture into the Western Regions.
