Roughly a month after the announcement of the last testament of the Jiaqing Emperor, the Grand Secretariat submitted a duplicated copy of the last testament for the ruling Daoguang Emperor, who then spotted a mistake in the edict. In the original edict, it was written that the Qianlong Emperor was born at the Summer Palace in Chengde. The Daoguang Emperor, after carefully scrutinizing the Veritable Records of Qianlong (Qing Gaozong Chun Huangdi Shilu), confirmed that his grandfather was in fact born at the Yonghe Palace in Beijing, and accordingly, the four Grand Council members drafting the last testament were severely punished for this mistake.
