Cords

Although early records indicate that slip volumes could be bound with leather or silk, the vast majority of those excavated in the northwest frontier regions of the Han were bound using hemp cords. The cords on display here were discovered at A8 Mu-durbeljin and A33 Ulan-durbeljin, where have been home to many discoveries of Han slips, might have been used in binding slip volumes.
