Inscribed Deer Skull Chia 3940

These deer skull inscriptions date back to the time of Kings Ti I or Ti Hsin. They recorded the game captured by the King at "蒿 Hao" on his return trip from a military expedition, and how the game was offered as sacrifice for the ancestor Wen-Wu-ting(Wu I and Wen Ting). This item together with Chia 3941 are the only two inscribed deer skulls so far unearthed.
