Land Rental Records
These slips, with the two middle wooden slips with ink lines in the same positions of side faces, are conjectured to be records of land rentals. The tax rate shown on the three slips is 0.4 per mu (four dou per mu) and is approximately 0.335 on the fourth one. Notably, on slip nos. 303.7 and 303.25, one can note that the “宀” radical of the characters jia 家 and guan官 has a pronounced slant on its right side for emphasis.
