Questions from the 3rd Section of the Metropolitan Examination
Metropolitan examinations were structured by three sections, each of which lasting for three days. Questions of each section alternated with time till being regulated in the 52nd year of the Qianlong reign. Following the regulation, examinees were tested with three questions related to the Four Books and asked to compose a five-character poem with eight rhyme in the first section. In the second section, examinees were tested with five questions on the interpretation of the Five Classics. In the third section, examinees were tested with five questions on classics, history, current affairs and coping strategies.
