Communication (Yihui) from the Ministry of War

In 1835, the envoy system was abolished by an imperial mandate from the Daoguang Emperor, and imperial edicts were then announced by relay stations. Duties of the envoys for promulgating imperial edicts were to be transferred to the relay stations. No envoys were to be commissioned to announce imperial edicts from 1835 onwards.
