Or when taking the apprentice exam or engaging in official affairs, one can take advantage of this trust and just by a fluke receive benefit; also, one can flaunt this power and suppress the villagers. This is a good way to seek one’s wealth from empty hands and to make a name for oneself. Is it not beautiful?” Despite mentioning that the above is not easy and a price must be paid, the story expounds the incessant quest for scholarly achievement and fame, the anticipated benefits if one were to realize that fame, and other social phenomena.
