Hani Women’s Dress

The strap affixed to the chest-covering cloth is worn diagonally across the shoulder. Judging by its size, this garment likely belongs to a girl.
Ethnic minority groups traditionally adorned their clothing with copper coins. Many Qing dynasty coins from different eras have been identified in clothing collections. Coin adornments served not only aesthetic purposes, but also signaled status and wealth.
