Miao Women’s Dress
This form of attire is worn by women of the Qing (Blue) Miao subgroup of Guizhou during the Flower Dance Festival, typically held in the first or fifth lunar month. Participants don their most ornate clothing and celebrate through dance, song, and climbing flower poles, all festive activities centered on ensuring a bountiful harvest. The garments and waistband feature exquisite geometric motifs that strikingly accentuate the wearer. The back of the top shows a pattern resembling a sun motif, one of the designs favored by the Miao.
