Qiang Women’s Dress
Weimen and Yonghe are two neighboring Qiang communities located within ten kilometers of each other along the same valley. Despite their close proximity, subtle differences in women’s dress have persisted, distinguishing the two communities. In recent years, for example, it has been fashionable for young women in Weimen to wear a wide-rimmed turban, which those in Yonghe jokingly compare to a shaobing—a baked flatbread or cake.
