The upper part of this stele illustrates the star atlas with the North Pole in the middle, and the lower part covers Chinese astronomical knowledge from the ancient time to the Song Dynasty. The original stele was engraved in 1247 (Southern Song dynasty) and was placed in the Prefectural Confucian Academy(Fu Xue). It is now stored in the Museum of Engraved Stone Tablets in Suzhou, China.
