“This Is How You Play with Oracle Bone Inscriptions” Card Game
MIHP Activities for the 2023 518 International Museum Day
Are you familiar with oracle bone inscriptions? Have you ever learned how to write oracle script? Now how about enjoying them as a game?
The Museum of the IHP is debuting an all-new oracle bone inscription card game in 2023, an energizing experience which will help you learn by simply enjoying a game and have fun during your visit. Allow the MIHP to tell you: “This is how to play with oracle bone inscriptions!”
For this year’s 518 International Museum Day, the MIHP invites you (especially our more senior visitors!) to try “This Is How You Play with Oracle Bone Inscriptions” together with us!
Location: The Ruins of Yin Exhibition, 1F, MIHP
Date: May 13 (Sat.), 2023, 10:30–12:00
Registration Fee: free
How to Register: online or in person at the MIHP (limited to 15 participants)
Suggested Participants: 7 years old and above, especially for those 55 and older!

Concept:
Using the MIHP’s exhibition on oracle bone inscriptions, especially the animals appearing within, as its theme, this all-new card game is an interactive medium for exploring oracle script, and through a simple dueling game mechanic understood and enjoyed by most, participants can use the characters, words, and pictures interchangeably to better apprehend the script. By learning through fun and enjoying one’s visit to the MIHP, it turns out “this is how to play with oracle bone inscriptions!”
