Bronze Cross-Cut
This micrograph of a bronze dagger (R006764:02) was taken via electron microscopy to determine the distribution of the alloy elements. The regions of different colors represent different ratios of copper and tin, with the overall distribution appearing a tree-like structure. The white granules are lead particles precipitated from the copper-tin alloy.
