Chüeh Vessel Molds from Hsiao-t’un
The clay molds for the upper part of this chüeh vessel is produced along its complex body in roughly uniform thickness. The conjecture is that the model was first adhered to a rather large block of clay to facilitate the impressions for the outer mold. The molds for the body comprise four sections: the left and right section in the front to cast the spout as well as a left and right in the back for the tail.
