Bronze Animal Mask Horse Bridle Ornament

In the Western Chou, various ornaments were attached to the bridles of chariot horses. This horse frontlet is in the shape of an animal mask, with a lower section curved to fit the horse. When unearthed, it hung on the southern wall of the tomb, surrounded by horse bit, reins, and strap decorations.
