Palace Examination Paper by Chen Benzhong
The palace examination papers were folders of answer sheets, the first half page of which was reserved for the examinee’s resume and his three-generation ancestry. The last nine pages contained answers in the form of a memorial. After exam papers were handed in, the names of the candidates were covered and the back of the exams were sealed with the label of the printing official.
