Epitaph of Li Kao

 Li Kao, courtesy name Zilan, participated to overwhelmassisted in putting down the rebellion of Yuan Chao, and this events have been was recorded on his epitaph. His tomb was associated buried originally located at the left behind backside of his ancestor’s tomb on May 12, 792, but he was transfer then reburied on June 24, 799, because the tomb has been damaged and required relocation to a more auspicious environment was deemed necessarys. Xu Xu wrote the epitaph as well as the Written by as well as Sseal script the cover by Xu Xu, and then they were carved by Qu Ben and Ma Zhan (the latter was a famous engraver at the mid-Tang Dynasty).,  An amended epitaph by Fan Ze was then inscribed added the reburial inscription in the empty place of this onto the original piece of tomb epitaph.
