A character “turtle” survives in the fragment. “Turtle” in oracle bone inscriptions are depicted in profile and in overview. Plastrons are essential materials for divination in the Shang culture. The largest plastron so far unearthed was from Pit YH127 in the Ruins of Yin, measuring 44.6 cm by 26.1 cm.
