II-1 A Bird of Literacy
“A Bird of Literacy” borrows its design from the Stone Bird of the Shang dynasty. With its smooth body shape, curved beak, and decorative crest, it has been surmised to be an ornament originally placed on a chime stand. By using wood to create a streamlined body shape, redesigning the chime stand into branches for it to rest, and replacing the beak with a pen, “A Bird of Literacy” is more than just a static ornament but a practical writing utensil.

- II Design
Despite not always being able to conform to the demands of modern life, the designs, forms, and functionality of historical objects still elicit astonishment. Their refined ingenuity not only serves as a muse for contemporary creative works, but with the help of modern design conceptions, can turn another corner, applying new meanings and joys—a crowning touch.
