Announcement Addressed to Soldiers from the Ministry of War
In August 1673, Wu Sangui petitioned for retirement from the post as the feudal prince of Yunnan; official permission was granted. Six months later, Wu rose in revolt, and the Qing court sent troops to settle the rebellion immediately. Meanwhile, announcements addressed to soldiers were made, prohibiting them from interfering with citizens during altercations.
